After a successful run with legendary funk outfit Rufus, Chaka Khan signed with Warner Bros. to launch her solo career with 1978's CHAKA. Two years later she was back with her second solo album, Naughty. Re-teaming with producer Arif Mardin, Chaka sounds even more assured and adventurous on the 1980 collection, which was cut at New York's Atlantic Studios with such instrumental aces as bassist Anthony Jackson and Average White Band guitarist Hamish Stuart in support - not to mention backing vocalists including future superstars Whitney Houston and Luther Vandross. Highlights include club favorite “Clouds” (one of two Ashford & Simpson-penned songs here), “Too Much Love” and the hit single “Papillon (a.k.a. Hot Butterfly).” “Naughty” delivers all the funk, soul and R&B any fan could ask for.
Get On Down now presents Naughty, on vinyl for the first time since the ‘80s in a Fig Cream colored vinyl run exclusively for Record Store Day 2026.
